About

We automate the process of lane marking on roads.

We are doing it by developing a car that will know to do lane marking without any human driving it and recognize potholes on the road.

 

The Problem 

badly maintained roads are a factor in as many as 30% of road accidents

In USA alone:

Road network is over 6.6M km long.

About 1,800,000 car accidents in the last year, caused by poor conditions on the road

  • construction zone marking
  • lane marking

 

Our Solution

The Ministry of Transport needs special infrastructure on the roads in order to drive autonomous vehicles.

We are presenting – MarkAir v1:

  • robot who will travel around the roads and will make sure the road infrastructure is fully functional.
  • Its first application is marking roads – the most basic infrastructure of a road adapted for autonomous vehicles.

 

How does it work?

MarkAir v1 is built from several systems:

  1. Propulsion system – main engine, steering engine, metal chassis, 4 wheels, speed transmission, and engine control.

 

       2.Electrical components: brushless motor, 8200MAH lithium polymer, standard servo motor, and motor controller.

Marking System – Based on spray technology.

Control system:

  • 3  line sensors – for marking roads
  • 3  ultrasonic sensors – for safety
  • Touch sensor – for safety
  • G.P.S – for navigation
  • Camera – for navigation and mission control

 

Our Challenges

Our challenges are:

  • Understand if we paint the same in dark.
  • Test our car outside, on a real road (The corona didn’t allow us to proceed)
  • Connect with the Ministry of Transport, in order to do our first POC.
  • Convince them to use an autonomous car in order to fix roads and paint them, and let them understand it is safe.

 

Our Impact

Our impact is huge in this case.

We have two main areas of influence – in the financial and security sectors.

Finance perspective – if you’ll buy a car for 50,000ILS that can automate the process of lane marking of roads, you’ll return your investment in just about 2 weeks!

Which means, it will save a lot of money to the Ministry of Transport.

In addition, it will save money for the insurance companies, because there will be less accidents on the roads.

Security perspective – We will reduce the number of car accidents on roads that are causing by roads issues – potholes and missing lane marking.

I study in IDC, Computer Science and Entrepreneurship degree, BSc. I am from Ramat Hasharon, 26 years old. I’ve served at 8200 unit as a Software Engineer. After my release, I went to Excel Ventures Accelerator in order to form a team and build a startup. Now I am working on “Claroty” as Software Engineer. I love our startup nation and what Israel stands for in the world in that field. I am passioned about create projects and solve people daily issues with technology. I loved the chance that I have the chance to be a “model” for the young entrepreneurs, Let them understand how critical the problem is and not the solution in a venture.

All projects (tech-prototypes) are ‘open for sell’  for flat fee based on MAX proprietary commercial  and legal generic terms.

We have a first prototype that can only be controlled for now, and the car can drive without spraying color.

We are missing code for our controller, will be continued after the corona will be passed (they can’t proceed for now)

In order to bring to the next level, we’ll need to invest more money on it.

What you need to bring the project forward?

We need to bring machinal engineers that will see everything we did so far and consult us for further information regarding the car.

We need someone in the Ministry of Transport in order to examine our solution.

We should also test it on field and finish the code section for the controller.

Design could be great, but it is not necessary for now.
