About

Mercury is an application that was created in order to ease the process of tracking blood pressure levels on a daily basis. The application works in a way that allows the user to register, insert data on a daily basis, and also track its progress and his health status with suitable, easy to read graphs. In addition, the application offers to send reminders for taking blood pressure measurements and by that making it easier for people to keep track of it. In the future, we plan on extending the application features by connecting it to a device that measures blood pressure, which will be able to send the data straight to the application’s database. This means a person will not need to remember to do it by himself and also makes it more approachable for people that are not very familiar with technology (some of the older population).

Our impact

Today, 1.1 billion people in the world suffer from high blood pressure. In the United States alone, about 77.9 million (1 out of every 3) adults have high blood pressure. In addition, high blood pressure was listed as one of the most contributing causes of death in America. From interviews with people who suffer from high blood pressure as well as interviews with experts in the field, we came to the conclusion that one of the obstacles that people with high blood pressure come across is the ability to track it. Mercury will be able to help with all that for so many people

Gal Levin
Programmer
A 17 year old senior high school student from Rehovot. Gal is the Tech lead of “Mercury”. “What led me to the idea of creating ‘Mercury’ is my father that suffers from high blood pressure. For years my father wrote his blood pressure measurements on random pieces of paper which didn’t allow him to track his health in a satisfying way. I wanted to create something that could help my father and many other people to organize their blood pressure data better and by that be able to track their heath better

A 29 year old student for Business & Entrepreneurship in The Inter Disciplinary Center. Business Development Director in “Mercury”. “My passion for joining a project with ‘MAX’ was at its base being able to help a senior high school student building a project from scratch. We experienced some difficulties along the way as well as changes in our team and learned together how to overcome them together. I’m happy I got the chance to work with Gal and Aviram on this idea and hoping we will be able to spread it to many people that will find it useful
